If you are a fan of the Grachtenfestival and can't imagine a summer in Amsterdam without this fabulous event, please show your support by becoming a permanent benefactor. The Grachtenfestival is looking for 'Big Bounteous Benefactors' who are willing to support the festival with an annual donation of €1,000. As a Grachtenfestival benefactor, you will join our special ‘Ambassadors’ circle, enjoying invitations to exclusive events and the first choice in seating.

Donation Act?
Thanks to a new Dutch tax law, donating to the Grachtenfestival will also give you a temporary savings on your personal income tax. Under the Donation Act (Geefwet), donors to an institution with ANBI status (‘institution for general benefit’) can increase their donation by 25%. This means the Dutch Tax Administration allows you to deduct an amount that is one quarter more than what you actually donated. There is a maximum limit to this amount, with the additional deduction applicable to donations of up to €5,000 per year.

?As an example, if you donate €1,000 per year to the Grachtenfestival, you can increase this amount by 125% and thus deduct €1,250 from your personal income tax. Of this amount, you can deduct 52% (if you fall under the highest tax rate), which comes to €650. Therefore, the actual net cost to you of your €1,000 donation is only €350.

?Ambassador
?If you donate €1,000 or more to the Grachtenfestival for a period of at least five years, you will join our special Grachtenfestival Ambassadors circle. Donations made by our Ambassadors are administered by the Stichting Ambassadeurs van het Grachtenfestival (‘Grachtenfestival Ambassadors Foundation’). This Foundation also has ANBI status, meaning your donation is tax-deductible.?As an additional benefit, Grachtenfestival Ambassadors have the exclusive right to purchase advance tickets for a selected number of performances. You will also be invited to join us for the annual Ambassadors Evening at one of the unique Grachtenfestival locations.

?As an Ambassador, you enjoy the full benefits of the Donation Act, with the costs of the notarial deed (mandatory) paid by the Stichting Ambassadeurs van het Grachtenfestival.
